WHAT IS MOT TYPE 1 AGGREGATE?
MOT Type 1 is a sub base that is created using recycled crushed concrete and rubble, although it can also be made from Granite or Limestone. It’s made up of larger 40mm pieces right down to dust and compacts well to form a solid base making it a good choice for the following applications:
- Roads
- Pavements
- Drives
- Car Parks
- Patios
“MOT” stands for Ministry of Transport, the predecessor of the Department of Transport. They are responsible for all the roads in the UK and set out the specifications related to all the materials needed to lay roads. MOT Type 1 aggregates meet all of these specifications.
TYPE 1 AGGREGATE AT K&B CRUSHERS – AGGREGATE SUPPLIER
All our type 1 aggregate is the product of reclaimed and recycled concrete materials that crushed, screened and sorted using our capable fleet of crushers. The end result is useable recycled type-1 sub base aggregate material that can either be reused by yourselves or we can remove completely from site to allow further work to proceed.
Our recycled type-1 aggregate is a versatile material. It is best suited as a sub-basing product and is commonly used as the base material in highways, footpaths, railways and foundations on larger construction projects. It also has more general uses as a backfilling and site grading material.
At K&B Crushers we can provide a range of recycled type 1 aggregate concrete quantities ranging from large tipper loads to smaller bagged amounts. These orders can then be collected directly from our recycling plant in Southampton, or arranged for delivery.
LICENSED AGGREGATE SUPPLY & REMOVAL
In addition to type 1 aggregate, we are also licensed to accept all types of unwanted concrete, hardcore and other demolition waste materials for recycling and processing. Our main concrete recycling centre is based at Southampton Docks, but can also provide on-site crushing services to produce a stockpile of reuseable type-1 crushed concrete to save you both time and money. We also supply & remove various other forms of aggregates, including glass sand and Tarmac road planings.
